Homonyms

This week in grammar, we'll talk about homonyms.

Homonyms are words that sound alike but have different meanings. Some examples of homonyms are: bat and band.

When you use the word bat in your writing, you can either be talking about a piece of sporting equipment or you can be talking about a mammal that hangs upside down.

*Fun Fact* Bats are the only mammals that are capable of true and sustained flight! Cool!

When you use the word band, you could either be talking about a group of people that make music together or a piece of jewelry that can be worn around your finger.

Throughout this week, I will be posting some examples of homonyms to my Facebook and Instagram pages. Make sure you're following so that you don't miss out!

Can you think of any examples of homonyms? Share them in the comments below!
