Homophones!

Last week, we took a small look at homonyms. This week, it's all about homophones! A homophone is a type of homonym, where the words sound alike but have different meanings and different spellings.

Two examples of homophones are; meat and meet, and ate and eight.
Meat is the flesh of animal that is used as food, while meet means to come into the presence or company of someone by chance or arrangement.
Ate is the past tense of the verb eat (seeing a pattern here? haha). Eight is the number after seven and before nine.
