Today’s word of the day is misnomer. The word misnomer is a noun. It is the inaccurate name or wrong use of a name or term. Have you ever gotten the collywobbles while waiting for your name to be called out loud? I get them because I always wonder if the person will pronounce my name right (they never do!).

The word misnomer is of French origin. It comes from the old French word, “menommer”, which means misname.
